Saiwing is a Registered Physiotherapist with many years of clinical experience in the treatment of various musculoskeletal conditions. She has a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. She is also a Certified Medical Acupuncture Practitioner from Acupuncture Canada and a Certified Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) Practitioner from University of British Columbia.
Saiwing has a special interest and expertise in the treatment of chronic pain, pain that has been lasting for more than three months. She always aims to identify and treat the root cause of the physical dysfunctions that contribute to the ongoing pain cycle. She excels in the comprehensiveness of her clinical assessment and treatment. Her treatment approach is individualized and goal-oriented. She effectively uses various management strategies, including education, manual therapy, acupuncture, Gunn IMS, dry needling, electrotherapy, and exercise prescription, to normalize tissue flow and function, to optimize body’s healing abilities, to alleviate pain and discomfort, to increase mobility and strength, to minimize functional restrictions, and to maximize physical capacities and quality of life.
Saiwing is a positive, engaging, and motivating physiotherapist, as well as a passionate and active clinical educator and life-long learner. She supports clinical education and enjoys being a volunteer Clinical Facilitator and Instructor for physiotherapy students. She also believes in life-long learning and has taken numerous continued education courses. Saiwing enjoys working one-on-one with her clients to help them achieve their personalized wellness goals. She has successfully assisted many of her clients in their recovery journeys and in empowering them to lead a more active and healthier lifestyle.
